Getting Victims To Antivenom Faster

Did you know?

A bite from a venomous snake does not necessarily kill or even produce a lasting injury, and yet venomous snake bites are responsible for between 81,000 and 138,000 deaths and 400,000 permanent disabilities globally each year.

Timely access to antivenom means the difference between life and death. The technology we are developing will allow a victim to receive immediate first aid guidance, identify the species of snake, and locate the nearest antivenom—critically shortening the time to treatment.

In rural communities across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, snakebite victims face a double tragedy: being bitten by a venomous snake only to find no antivenom at local hospitals. Unlike wealthy nations, healthcare systems in these regions can’t afford to stock antivenom everywhere. We are building international databases to transform supply chains, ensuring life-saving treatment reaches the world’s most vulnerable populations.

“Good-quality antivenoms can literally make a difference between life and death.”

Protecting People And Snakes

Here’s the thing:

We absolutely love snakes. They’re incredible predators, essential for balanced ecosystems, and natural pest controllers that protect crops worldwide. We are building an AI-driven tool that creates crowd-sourced data streams to advance our understanding of snake distributions and their interactions with humans—because protecting people and protecting snakes go hand in hand.

Building A Global Coalition

No single organization can end the snakebite crisis alone—but together, we can. Our mission requires doctors and data scientists, local health workers and global nonprofits, governments and grassroots organizations. We welcome every partner who shares our commitment to saving lives and preventing death and disabilities from snakebites.

We Are Developing Technology to Help Snakebite Victims

If you are interested in being involved or have expertise that can help us fulfill our mission, please reach out to learn more. We are especially interested in having conversations about snakebite epidemiology, global envenomation data, digital health tools in agricultural settings, and antivenom availability.
